Dr. Panus RomsaitongOphthalmologist

Dr. Panus Romsaitong

Dr. Panus Romsaitong is an ophthalmic surgeon and comprehensive ophthalmologist board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He completed his undergraduate studies at New York University and received his medical degree at New York Medical College. His internship at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport, CT was followed by residency training at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Centers of New York and a fellowship in medical retina at NYU Medical Center, which he completed in 1999.

Dr. Romsaitong is an accomplished, experienced, comprehensive ophthalmic physician and surgeon with a special interest in cataract surgery. He continues to stay abreast of the latest techniques and innovations to provide his patients the best care for their eyes while teaching these techniques to ophthalmology residents at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he is active as a Clinical Director. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at New York Medical College and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Panus Romsaitong is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Flushing Hospital Medical Center, Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, Northwell Health Hospital, and Northwell Health Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He has been practicing at the Elmhurst office since 2011. His patient base ranges from kids as young as 5 years old to geriatrics.

Dr. Sevada Hakobyan Optometrist

Dr. Hakobyan is a board-certified and New York State licensed Doctor of Optometry, who provides comprehensive eye care at Visual Ophthalmology Services.

Dr. Hakobyan was born and raised in Armenia. After graduating from high school, he earned his medical degree at Yerevan State Medical University. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at Malayan’s Eye Center (Yerevan, Armenia). While working as a general ophthalmologist in Armenia, Dr. Hakobyan did several short-term fellowships in India, Poland, Austria, Russia, Ukraine, and USA in the field of ophthalmic plastic surgery, general ophthalmology, neuro-ophthalmology, and contact lenses.

After moving to the United States in 2011, Dr. Hakobyan joined REDIARC (Retinal Diseases Image Analysis Reading Center) team of Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at University Hospitals (Cleveland, Ohio). He worked as a Senior Retinal Analyst providing image analysis and evaluation for a variety of retinal diseases, including clinical trials in age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vascular diseases. In the periods from 2017 to 2019, Dr. Hakobyan completed the Advance Standing Program at SUNY College of Optometry (New York, NY). During his clinical rotations, he worked in a wide range of different settings, such as fast-paced private practices, research-oriented university hospitals, as well as disease-focused VA hospital settings.

Dr. Hakobyan speaks English, Russian, Armenian, and conversational Spanish.

Dr. Pamela ArnettOptometrist

Dr. Pemela Arnett

Dr. Arnett is a licensed optometric glaucoma and ocular disease specialist who is therapeutically certified. She was an Intel Science Talent Search semifinalist, and after completing her undergraduate studies at New York University under the Presidential Honors scholars program, with honors, she received her Doctorate of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry. During her clinical education, she completed externships with emphasis in ocular disease and glaucoma treatment and management at Hudson Valley VA Hospital and Northport VA Hospital. She completed a primary care externship at Codman Square Health Center in Dorchester, MA, with emphasis in ocular disease and pediatrics. She further completed a cornea and specialty contact lens rotation at New England Eye, and a low vision rehabilitation rotation at Jamaica Plains VA Medical Center. Dr. Arnett’s clinical interests include primary care, pediatrics, punctal plugs and contact lens fittings including specialty GPs and toric/astigmatic lenses. She is a member of the NYS Optometric Association, NJ Society of Optometric Physicians and American Optometric Association.

Dr. Jin Yip Chiu Optometrist

Dr. Chiu was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Albany and received his Doctorate of Optometry from Nova Southeastern University. While studying at Nova Southeastern University, he completed his externships, focusing on contact lenses, ocular disease and glaucoma management. He completed an externship at Commonwealth Eye Surgery in Lexington, KY, with an emphasis on cataract and LASIK post-operative care. His externship at Commonwealth Eye Surgery was then followed by a rotation at the Center for Sight in Pensacola, FL, focusing on general optometric care. Dr. Chiu is dedicated to providing full-scope optometric care to all of his patients.
